Discovered 1984 September 20 by A. Mrkos at Kle.
 Named in memory of Václav Vojtěch (1901-1932), Czech traveler and Antarctic explorer. In 1929 he became the first Czechoslovak to step on the Antarctic continent. This minor planet commemorates the seventieth anniversary of his participating with the Byrd expedition. Name suggested by J. Tichá and M. Tichý.
